" As a few other people have said... from past experience, we're expecting close to half a million signups. We could have included a field where you get to write in and explain why you'd be the best tester... but unless you wanted us to take a month off to read through them all, such a field would be pointless. Furthermore, we'd have no way to verify honesty. So what you signed up for was a random chance to test the game. No, there's no way to make your chances better than anyone elses.
However, this is just one phase. There will also be contests... contests run by Blizzard and contests run by fansites for betas. You'll have lots of opportunities."
