World of Warcraft Interface

Player Status

In the globe, you can see the avatar of the player's face and the level of the character is shown beneath in a small globe. In the bars to the left of the avatar, the players name followed by a green bar (the health bar) and a blue bar (the mana bar). There will be an option that you can activate and desactivate that will show the exact number of hit / mana point inside the health bar.

Targeted Being

If you are targeting someone (a creature, npc or player), that player's status will appear in this spot.You will be able to see their name, health bar, avatar and level.

Party Members, Summoned Creature or Pet

If you are in a party, your fellow party member's status will be shown beneath your own player status. You will be able to see their name, avatar and health bar. The party leader (who is in charge of the looting arrangements) has a crown above their avatar.

If you have a pet or summoned creature, his/her status bar will be shown here too. When clicked on, a small command list will appear, and you will be able to give different commands to your pet or creature.

Chat Menu

Your chat with other players will be displayed here, as well as what happens to your character (new quest completed, new skill learned and various other things...). There are different colors for every type of speaking. This is what we know about chatting in World of Warcraft so far:

XP Gained

When killing creatures/players, you will gain experience points, once gained they will appear above your head for a short time.

Casting Bar

This loading bar will appear when a player is charging a spell and also when using his gun or bow.

Mouse Cursor

The mouse cursor which is used in World of Warcraft is an iron glove. When hovering above or clicking on characters (or items) it changes; the picture shows either a normal, an attack, or a speak cursor. All races have the same cursor at the moment, but they might have their respective cursor in the final version.

Quest Timer

Some quests will need to be accomplished within a specific time frame. This is the timer that shows you how much time you have remaining to complete the quest.

Minimap

At the top of the minimap is the location bar that shows what region you are currently in.
The minimap shows a miniaturized view of the world map, you will see other players, buildings and an arrow will show you which direction your facing.
With the plus and minus buttons you will be able to zoon in and out.
The Day/Night cycle show the time of the day, hovering over this might give you the exact time in World of Warcraft.

Active Spell/Skill

If you are under the effect of a spell / ability / aura that modifies your character in someway (buffs, debuff, disease, etc.), an icon will appear at the top.




Experience Bar (XP Bar)

This bar indicate how much experience points you've gain since your last level up. There is also an option that can be activated that will indicate the number of XP you have, and how much you need for the next level. This indicator is shown in the middle of the Experience Bar. Let's say you have 100 XP and you need 1000 XP for the next level, so it will show 100/1000 in the middle of the bar.

Skills/Abilities/Items slots/Scroll

You can scroll the rows up and down using the small up and down arrows on the right of the row or by pressing on SHIFT + 1(or another key from "1" to "="). When you have chosen the row you want, you can hit from "1" to "=" to activate/use the Skills or Abilities or Items you've placed in here.

Popup Menu's

These 7 buttons will open the following menus (starting from the left):

  • Characters Paperdoll
  • Spell Book & Abilities
  • Quest Log
  • Friend List
  • World Map
  • Main Menu
  • Bugs & Suggestions
Latency Bar (Lag Bar)

This bar indicate lag between you and the server you're playing on. The indicator is divided into three different segments. Green mean a good connection, Orange is a poor one, and Red is a very bad one.

Storage

There is five slots for back packs and sacks. When you click on a back pack or a sack, an inventory menu will appear.
